Henry and the Fox

by

Henry the cockerel is a coward. He can't even crow properly. All the other animals in the farmyard either laugh at him or ignore him. His only friend is a bantam called Buffy, who is also bullied by the others.

Then Buffy has an idea – they will fool everyone into thinking that there is a fox is asleep in the grass. Then Henry can pretend to chase it away, and be hailed as a hero by the whole farmyard.

Not surprisingly, the plan doesn't quite work out, and the results are very entertaining. Henry and Buffy triumph in the end, and all the other animals are put firmly in their place. This is a gentle tale with a twist, told in a chatty and amusing style.
