Norman's Ark

by

Michael Foreman
Illustrator: Michael Foreman

Norman goes with his mum and dad to a safari park. Chaos strikes one night when his parents go out for the evening, leaving him alone in the hut in a terrible storm.

Two by two, a whole variety of safari animals come into the hut to take shelter. But when Norman's parents return, the animals have all gone, leaving the hut in an appalling mess.

And they won't believe a word of Norman's story - even though he never tells a lie… honest.

Michael Foreman has created an entirely original 'ark' story, which is funny and endearing, as well as raising some interesting questions about honesty, storytelling and where the boundaries lie. The illustrations are fantastic, with Norman's mother's safari outfit a particular highlight.
