The Knight Who Took All Day

by

James Mayhew
Illustrator: James Mayhew

Meet our hero – The Knight. Keen to impress the beautiful Princess with his bravery, he seeks a dragon to slay but, alas, dragons are rare. When a fearsome dragon does appear, the Knight takes ages finding just the right armour as helmets lack plumes and capes don’t match...

He finally sallies forth, only to find the Princess is already there - and it's not him she's impressed by!

This cautionary tale of pride and procrastination is conveyed in comic-strip style, which reveals the princess calmly and quickly preparing herself, taming the dragon and finding her man - the Knight's long-suffering Squire!

Mayhew's delicately coloured illustrations are filled with courtly details which enhance this rollicking story. Plenty to look at and great fun!
