Pascal seems like a normal French boy when he comes to stay with Mike and his family on an exchange visit. Gradually, however, Mike realises that there is something very different about Pascal - and in fact, the reader already knows that Pascal is an Alien from another world, sent to learn Earth's customs and cultures.

This book is genuinely funny, appealing to a wide audience. Nevertheless, it touches on some serious issues and could be used to introduce ideas of tolerance, understanding, and the meaning of true friendship.
