Whoosh Around the Mulberry Bush

by

Jan Ormerod
Illustrator: Lindsey Gardiner

Inspired by Here We Go Round the Mulberry Bush, this book takes readers on a rhyme-filled, action-packed journey across the planet.

Beginning with a mulberry bush in an ordinary garden, it sweeps across farmyards, beaches, oceans, deserts, jungles and ice-caps, taking in many different animals before swirling through a starry night to arrive safely home.

You can't help wanting to join in with this book, as the driving rhythm pulls you along. It's an introduction to world-wide environments and animal behaviours and the colourful illustrations move as joyously through the book as the text, which delights in playing with the song's language. A book that starts with a mulberry bush and encompasses the entire world!

  • Lindsey Gardiner

Lindsey lives in Dundee, Scotland, where she shares a messy studio with her high maintenance but adorable dogs, Lola and Yuki. They give her lots of love and LOTS of ideas, with much of the same issues to deal with as children. Picky eating, sibling rivalry, toilet training, attention seeking, socialization skills (or lack thereof), fear of baths, not to mention invading her bed in the middle of the night! As anyone with children (or dogs!) knows, the list is endless. At least Lindsey hopes it is, or else where will her next story come from?
