Books we like: March 2012
Our book of the month is Homesick by Roshi Fernando.
Effectively re-released by Bloomsbury following Roshi's shortlisting in last year's Sunday Times EFG Private Bank Short Story Award, this short story collection aches with homesickness, with the trials and tribulations of big immigrant families, all with a wry, heartfelt attention to details.
Also out, we have a new book from former Orange Prize for Fiction nominees Roopa Farooki and Kate Grenville; respected translated fiction author Gerbrand Bakker and the brilliant, funny storyteller, Dan Rhodes, taking us to Paris once more, for a charming tale of babies and life. Debuts from Ben Masters and Justin Torres, as well as the contraversial and funny Shalom Auslander.
