Booktrust's targeted offers

Booktrust's targeted offers

The Ant Club is the extended offer for primary schools, aimed at pupils in both Reception and Year 1. The wonderful Nick Sharratt has brought to life a range of printed and online resources which include rhyme, poetry, drama and creating texts to support work with children and parents around communication, language and literacy. Accompanying Booktrust recommended reading lists for EYFS and KS1 are released each term.

The Beyond Booked Up programme is aimed at pupils in both Year 7 and 8 and includes a range of accessible resources designed to help develop speaking, listening, writing and reading skills for 11- to 13-year-olds. Beyond Booked Up has been designed to ignite pupils' interest in books and reading by introducing them to a range of the very best writing across a number of different formats. With resources including a Booktrust Anthology of Short Stories, creative introductions to graphic novels, and exciting play scripts, and performance poetry, Beyond Booked Up uses the Bookbuzz titles as a launch pad for an array of other activities.

All primary and secondary schools that are eligible have now been invited to sign-up to these programmes for the 2012/13 academic year. All eligible schools will have been sent login details for The Ant Club or the Beyond Booked Up website.

Both The Ant Club and Beyond Booked Up are achieved through public private partnerships. Administered by Booktrust, the programmes are supported by the Department for Education and children's publishers.

Bookstart Corner is our new programme that supports children’s centres across England to help their most disadvantaged families develop a love of stories, books and rhymes. Aimed at families with children aged 12-30 months, the programme allows children’s centres to offer intensive support for parents and carers so that they may read together for pleasure with their children with confidence. All children's centres that sign up will receive a number of free resources to use to help them build on the work already carried out with families. Each centre will also receive 50 packs, containing two picture books and guidance materials, to gift to families.
