Over 150 families attend Bookstart party at Rhyl leisure centre in Denbighshire.
The party featured a surprise visit from the Bookstart Bear who sang ‘Head, Shoulders Knees and Toes’.
Families sang their favourite Welsh and English rhymes, including ‘Clap, Clap 123’ and ‘Jelly on a Plate’, and enjoyed traditional party games of musical statues, pass-the-parcel and a record-breaking hokey-cokey!
To finish off, everyone joined in singing ‘Penblwydd Hapus’, then enjoyed some delicious Bookstart birthday cake. Families completed over 60 pledge cards, promising to share 20 books with children in 2012.
Well done to the local Bookstart team, Nina and Donna, for organising such a fantastic event!
