The 2009 Quick Reads – a mix of fiction and non-fiction – offer something for all tastes.
In the last three years, Quick Reads have firmly established themselves as the perfect books for people who have lost the reading habit or who struggle to read long and complicated books and for avid readers simply wanting a short, fast read. Above all, they have proved that reading can be fun.
Booktrust is pleased to support an initiative that encourages reading on this scale.
The ten books were published on World Book Day in the UK, Thursday 5 March 2009.
In this new list, brand-new novels come from authors Ian Rankin, Kate Mosse, John Boyne, Catrin Collier and Gervase Phinn. Coronation Street actress Sherrie Hewson presents her first novel and, following the success of previous Quick Reads Doctor Who titles, there is also a new episode to enjoy.
Non-fiction titles come in the form of 101 Ways to Get Your Child to Read; Lola Jaye's self-help guide Reaching for the Stars and Dragons' Den: Your Road to Success.
