Providing information through the Bookstart website to our principle beneficiaries and partners, you will liaise other content managers across Booktrust’s book gifting programmes (Booktime, Booked Up and Letterbox Club) to ensure coherent tone and messaging.
Responsibilities
To liaise with the Bookstart staff and our Web Manager to source, write and edit and content for the our website.
Content generation that provides information for Bookstart schemes, other strategic and operational partners, as well as journalists, parents and carers.
Build and maintain a contact management database.
Analyse monthly statistics on the book gifting site developments and produce reports for the Management Team.
To train, advise and support the work of content managers for other book gifting sites, including Booktime, Booked Up and Letterbox Club.
To work with the Web Manager to complete a strategic plan for the Bookstart website.
To write content for a range of e-newsletters for Bookstart and Booktrust stakeholders as required.
To oversee and monitor an online database of events.
To liaise with website designers and developers for any future re-development of the site.
To work with the Web Manager on any IT or web trouble-shooting issues which arise.
Qualifications, knowledge, skills and experience
MS Office, CMS, html, Dreamweaver, Photoshop and ftp experience is essential.
Understanding of PHP, information architecture, xhtml and css together with SEO, accessibility and user-generated content is desirable.
Experience using a content management system, web editing software or similar.
Excellent journalistic skills allowing you to produce engaging copy.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work to pressing deadlines.
An interest in the book and/or publishing sector, an advantage.
